Many CEOs have realized that while barring some section of employees, many employees are not found to be committed and skilled causing heavy drain on net revenue return per employee. There is general drive towards reducing permanent employees and employing specific skilled people to work on assignments for short periods at premium fees.

Further many Companies hire Contractual Professionals through Staffing Agencies and get people on third party payroll. While many do work with identified Agencies, this is primarily a very unorganized industry and there is no standardization around quality, pricing or operating processes. Oncontract.com aggregates such Agencies across India and has programs to verify their credentials.

Oncontract was founded in Jan 2011. Commercially, the platform was launched in April 2011.

We are based out of Goregaon (East) in Mumbai, India. Since we are purely an online platform, we are able to serve our members across India from Mumbai.

Oncontract.com currently targets 27 Industry segments (e.g IT, Retail, Automotive etc) and 16 functional categories (e.g Accounts & Finance, Sales, Administration, HR etc). As our membership base grows, and add their specific categories, the category coverages will grow.

OnContract.com aggregates Live Contract Jobs posted by its Member Customers, across multiple categories (Industry & Functional Skills), and presents them on its home page for Professionals to Apply directly, without having to login. Oncontract.com focuses on ensuring that only relevant data is visible to all the participants of the market. Professionals have to update their availability status and keep them current to come into searches. Similarly, Contracts that are either fulfilled or cancelled will not continue to be visible on the platform. Staffing Agencies have a unique opportunity to announce their available capacity (that can be deployed within 2 weeks) through classifieds (called Broadcasts).

Yes you can. We have enabled posting of Contract Jobs from home page for Customers, without having to login. You can also view your responses and econnect with Professionals and conduct business. You can post your Contract Jobs unlimited amount of times. The intent of this is to give you sense of the level and quality of the responses. Once you are happy with your experience, you can become a paid member and enjoy several benefits that are not available in the trial mode.

Our focus is not to have large number of Individuals and Agencies, but credible and relevant supply-side to enable effective hiring. Our updated number of Professionals and Agencies are provided on our home page and grows daily. In Jan 2013, we stood at 50,000+ Individual Professionals and 5.600+ Agencies. On the Demand side, we were at 3,000+ Registered Customers.

Based on the data available since we started in April 2011, we have seen average turn-around time of 3 hours. The best response time has been as low as 15 minutes, where the Customer was able to meet his expectations.

Given that we are an online platform available at extremely low subscription cost, we do not provide services that ensure responses within a stipulated time. Attracting responses is a factor of many things including how well the role has been defined, clarity of the job description, location, offered bill rate etc.

However, in some cases we do get requested by our Customers to provide initial hand-holding till they reach interview stage. We have thus developed a separate pricing plan called �Premium +�, in which we provide a �Single Point of Contact (SPOC)� from our side to liaise with you on each of your Contract Job. The SPOC will also help in garnering responses on your posted jobs. They will also review your Job post and recommend changes, if any and finally pre-qualify the responses from a basic fit perspective. See Pricing Plans here

While it is difficult to provide guarantee in the Human Resource related transaction, if our Customers have genuinely not able to get any leverage (in terms of responses to their Contract Job posts) from the platform, then we will return the subscription amount paid immediately.

Oncontract.com enables hiring Professionals (directly through Agencies) on Full-time, Part-time or One-time basis. The duration and nature of engagement with the Professional is entirely mutual and is between Customer and other party. Oncontract.com does put any restriction on the hiring model preferred by the parties entering into a transaction.

It is neither. It is not a Job board because it does not sell a static CV database. It is not a Networking platform because we do share information of one member with another. Also, the information captured about the Professional in ensured that it is adequate enough for taking informed decisions.

If you hire a Professional from Oncontract.com platform, there are no fees payable to the Professional. However, if you hire through an Agency, you will have to pay their fees as applicable, which you would have negotiated before starting the engagement.

No. You can post a Contract from Home page and do not need to be logged in. You will be able to see the responses to your contract on a web page, the link for which will be sent to you by an email. You will have the ability to econnect with the respondents and transact your deal. This status is of a Free Customer.

Unlimited. However, the intent of providing the Free Customer feature is to judge whether the platform will benefit your cause. For a smoother user experience, it is recommended that you become a Paid Customer.

Each response has options to mark the profile 'Suitable' and 'Not Suitable'. In both the actions, a message is sent to the Professional or Agency, as the case maybe, about your decision. Giving prompt feedback is essentials as our supply community sees that as a mark of seriousness. If feedbacks are not provided, the supply community does get motivated to provide best responses to your future Contracts.

Many Companies hire Contractual Professionals through Staffing Agencies. While many do work with identified set of Agencies, there are times when they are unable to get their adhoc requirements met that are required on urgent basis. Further, many companies are on lookout for empanelling newer Agencies because not all their existing set of Agencies either deliver quality or become inactive. Finally, some companies look for Agencies that are specialized in a particular skill, which becomes difficult to find.

All feedback on the profiles, whether Suitable, Not Suitable or on Hold is available through the platform and is visible to Agencies on their personal Dashboard. While, Oncontract.com emphasizes to each of its Customers on the importance of prompt feedback, it is beyond our control to ensuring feedbacks come all the time. Some Customers who repeatedly did not provide feedback suffered at a later date since many Agencies did not prefer to respond to their posts. Many Customers have changed their attitude and are quite regular with their feedbacks.

Since we are a transactional platform, we ensure that a fair consideration has to be given to both Customers and Agencies in terms of contacting each other.

When a Customer posts a job and receives responses from Agencies, they get profiles of Agency submissions without contact details. The Customer has to first provide their feedback (Suitable or Not Suitable) on each profiles. Once a profile is found Suitable, then contact details of the Customer are shared with the Agency and vice versa. This way we ensure that only genuine interactions get established without unsolicited calls to either parties.

Oncontract.com is a marketplace and hence all money transactions are conducted between the Customer and Agency. You will get paid for the people you have deputed directly from the Customer. Our terms & Conditions agreed by the Customer clearly states that if they choose to hire Professionals provided by the Agency that they have to first empanel the Agency and agree the terms of the agreement including payment schedules very clearly. Since Oncontract.com does not charge any transaction fee from either parties, it does not take responsibility of the payments on either side.

However in case of disputes, Oncontract.com on case to case basis has intervened and acted as an informal arbitrator to such disputes resulting in settlement of disputes. This however is not part of our services to either parties.

Agencies can become a paid member by paying annual subscription fees. Once a member, you do not have to pay any transaction or success fee to Oncontract.com.

Registering with OnContract.com as a paid member enables you to:

  • Once profiles submitted by you are found relevant, you will get the direct contact details of the Customer to connect enabling you to build your prospect base without having to leave the office
  • Since the entire transaction can be happen over the platform, you reduce your operational & administrative costs

Broadcasts are classifieds that allow you to announce spare/surplus resources that are available for deployment immediately. Customers prefer this method of hiring because of the high predictability of joining. Many Agencies have used Broadcast to increase their revenues by taking calculated risks.

Oncontract displays all the Live Contracts on its home page. There is a Search option that will list all the Contracts specific to the keywords you searched for. You can then directly Apply from there.

No. Professionals can apply and respond to Contracts absolutely free.

Oncontract.com does not restrict anybody on the engagement method. It is entirely between the hiring party and you to mutually agree on the way you wish to engage. As an Individual Professional you have the following choices of working:

  • Full-time (8 hours a day for a defined assignment duration). For example engage a PHP Programmer for full-time on 3, 6, 8, 12 or x months onsite
  • Part-Time (Defined hours for a defined assignment duration). For example engage a CFO to work for 2 hours per week basis onsite
  • One-Time (Fixed-cost, Fixed-duration). For example hire a Sales Guru to conduct a sales workshop for your business development teams onsite on Full-time, Part-time or One-time basis.

There are multiple ways to get notified if you get shortlisted. Our Free Trial Customers can send you Message through emails or our paid Customers can either email you or call you directly. Finally you will see all the shortlist as well as other statuses on your personal Dashboard once you login.

OnContract.com helps you find the right Contract matching your profile. Registering with OnContract.com enables you to:

  • Customers who come at our site are looking for skilled people and are willing to pay premium.
  • You have the ability to respond to Contracts of your choice or be found in search by the Customers.
  • Here you get to establish Customer-Provider relationship rather than an Employer-Employee relationship.
  • We provide you resources and information that will help you become a good Contract Professional and develop excellence.
  • We give you multiple engagement options viz Full-Time (8 hrs a day); Part-time (select hours a day) or One-time (fixed assignment).

On Oncontract, you are free to directly negotiate and close the deal with the Customer. The Customer then pays you directly as per your commercial arrangement in the form of a Bill Rate. The Customers may retain 10% TDS on your payable fees, which you can later claim by filing returns.

Participating as a Professional on Oncontract.com is FREE. We only charge subscription fees from Customers and Agencies.

You are free to apply to as many Contracts as you wish.

No. Our Contracts are presented on the Home page and you can directly apply from there. We will however sing-you up the first time and send you Login & Password details. Although it is upto you to continue applying from Home, we recommend you log in and apply from your personal Dashboard.

Creating a detailed profile is very important, since complete profile demonstrates a person�s professionalism and seriousness. Profile can be created once you log into your dashboard through �My Profile� option. A detailed profile with keywords relevant to your skill helps you rank better in searches. Further, it is recommended that you update your Profile regularly. Members often contact only those candidates who have recently updated their profiles.

Only Customers who are looking to hire Contract Professionals can access your profile. Further, the search option on the platform is only available to paid Customers. Our Trail Customers all also genuine Customers and hence you should also apply to their Contracts.

While technically it is possible, if you use another email address to create your profile, we do not recommend it.

No. We suggest that you check your application thoroughly including upding your bill rate suitably to apply.

Yes you can and you should. Contract Jobs give you the flexibility to demand your own price based on the nature of the work and degree of difficulty. This is different from a permanent employment domain, where the prevalent market compensations get applied irrespective of the nature, travel, degree of difficulty of the work. You should suitably change your bill rate for every contract.

Once you have successfully applied for a particular contract, any future correspondence towards the same lies solely at the discretion of the Customer who has posted the requirement. From our past experience, we found the feedback response to average around 24 hours.

On the platform, a feedback of shortlist or not-suitable is generally expected within 24 hours. For shortlisted profiles, both parties get each other�s contact details and hence are free to follow-up with each to get the Contract to closure.
